1	李竑瑞	As musicians, it is our goal to convey emotion through sound, to elicit understanding in ways that simple words cannot. The idea of music as a universal language is a popular one, but the truth is in fact much more complex; what sounds relaxing to one culture may seem intense to another, and the joyful tune of one group may not be so joyful for another. The visionary leaders of Shanghai Conservatory have provided us with a truly one-of-a-kind opportunity. Over the next three weeks, you and I will be able to learn the sounds and emotions that drive a culture more than 1.4 billion people strong. With practice, hard-work, and perseverance, I look forward to improving both as a musician and as a human being. We humans are social creatures---we are better together than apart---so let’s take the time to learn from each other, to understand one another...and to play some really cool music :D Thank you to Shanghai Conservatory and the City of Shanghai Educational Department for providing the funding for us to be together!
2	林琳	上海音乐学院作为中国高等音乐教育的引领者、上海文化品牌的贡献者，通过此次项目搭建交流平台，向大家深入介绍中国传统音乐文化，并将开放包容、互学互鉴的精神展示给世界各国，促成中外艺术文化的交流与融合。通过这个项目，我能够学有所获、学有所得，更加深入地了解真实的中国，了解中国的音乐，成为文明和文化的使者。
